With everything happening around our country and the world, the best thing we can do right now is to support our brothers and sisters in the black community. How Do I Support Black Owned Businesses in Venice, FL?

In today’s world, it’s impossible to ignore the numerous challenges and injustices faced by the black community. With ongoing protests, discussions, and debates surrounding the issue of racism and inequality, it’s clear that change is necessary. As a society, we must stand together in support of our black brothers and sisters and take action towards building a more just and equitable future.

By supporting black-owned businesses, we can not only help uplift the voices and stories of these entrepreneurs but also promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity in the marketplace. Local Black Owned Restaurants in Venice

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, you won’t want to miss the chance to support these amazing businesses and taste some of the best cuisine the area has to offer.

Chaz 51 Steakhouse

Chaz 51 Steakhouse has truly transformed since it’s humble beginnings as a hole in the wall cafe tucked away in Nokomis. After relocating to Bird Bay Plaza a few years ago, the restaurant has become an upscale steakhouse that embodies all fine dining has to offer. With live music and a vibrant night life, this is the perfect place for a date night in Venice. He also offers several specials throughout the year to make the value even greater. For me, it’s the small personal touches like little chalkboards handwritten with well-wishes for special occasions when you make a reservation in advance or taking the time to write in chocolate on the dessert plate for celebrations. When you’re here, you feel like family.

Suncoast Cafe

Another hidden gem, Suncoast Cafe is located inside the Venice Airport. Originally from the beautiful island of St. Lucia, Chef Tony serves up all the classic breakfast dishes and then at lunch time, the Caribbean flair comes out full force. Alongside this delicious breakfast menu, Suncoast offers their own personal coffee blend from Venetian Coffee Roasters, this may just be my favorite cup of coffee for breakfast in Venice.

Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Truck

While new to Venice Island, Auntie Anne’s is a recognizable brand to so many for their delicious sweet and savory pretzel combinations. Locally owned and operated, this food truck is parked next to the Chamber of Commerce across from the Venice hospital. They are usually open from 11 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. They frequently offer specials such as buy 2 get 1 free, be sure to follow them on Facebook for all their current deals and specials!

Locally Black Owned Food Vendors

When you support black-owned home-based food vendors, you are also supporting entrepreneurship and innovation. Many of these vendors are starting businesses from scratch, often with limited resources and support. By purchasing their products, you are helping to promote innovation and creativity in the culinary industry. In addition to the economic and cultural benefits of supporting black-owned home-based food vendors, you can also enjoy delicious and unique foods. Many black home cooks specialize in dishes that are not commonly found in mainstream restaurants or grocery stores, and by trying their food, you can experience new and exciting flavors.
