In the heart of Florida’s thriving agricultural scene, there’s a gem that’s as good for your wallet as it is for your wellness – the Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) program. Picture this: You’re at your favorite local farmer’s market, shopping for sun-ripened tomatoes and crisp greens. With FAB, your SNAP benefits go twice as far, meaning double the fresh produce on your table!

In a delightful twist, the Venice Farmer’s Market is not just a feast for your senses but also a boon for your wallet! Thanks to the Fresh Access Bucks (FAB) program, your SNAP benefits can double, bringing twice the amount of fresh, Florida-grown fruits and veggies to your table. This program is more than just a shopping spree; it’s a celebration of local produce, a nod to nutritional wisdom, and an investment in our community’s health and prosperity.

  • Stretch Your SNAP Benefits: For every dollar spent from SNAP benefits on Florida-grown fruits and veggies, FAB matches it. You’ll receive red tokens and green tokens to use in the market. • Community Thrives Together: When we support FAB, we’re not just eating well; we’re weaving a stronger, more connected community fabric.

What Vendors Are At The Venice Farmer’s Market?

Just wait until you see all the goodies at the market though! I’ll start with one of my favorites…

Stamper Cheese

My first stop at the Farmer’s Market was Stamper Cheese. A sweet woman named Mindy called me over to sample a small piece of raspberry bellavitano, which had a subtle sweetness that I think would pair deliciously with a glass of wine. She was a wealth of knowledge and seemed to genuinely love talking with people and sharing the taste of various cheeses.

She continued to tempt me with various samples: an aged manchego, a dry sheep’s milk cheese with an almost caramel, nutty flavor like a brown butter; From dill cheese curds to applewood smoked gouda, there wasn’t anything on that table that I didn’t like. I could have spent the afternoon just at this booth alone and been completely satisfied. My favorite though? The pistachio roll. A creamy cheddar and blue cheese rolled in crushed pistachios. Stop by and grab a sample, you’ll be glad you did!

Unique Cheese Offerings

Stamper Cheese Florida offers a delightful array of handcrafted Wisconsin artisan cheeses. Their selection includes various cheese types like Havarti, Swiss, Gouda, Monterey Jack, as well as Sheep and Goat cheeses. Some of their unique offerings include the Apricot Brie, Marieke Nettle Gouda, Stettler Swiss, and Horseradish/Chive Havarti. They also feature a Smoked Blue cheese.

Other Places To Buy Stamper Cheese

In addition to their wide range of products, Stamper Cheese is known for its presence at farmers’ markets across Florida. You can find them at various locations on different days of the week, such as the Captiva Farmers Market, Phillippi Farmhouse Market, Marco Island Farmers Market, and others.

Tropical Island Foods

It’s probably the first thing you smell when you walk up to the market, the glorious aroma of Tropical Islands kettle corn! This little booth has classic kettle corn, but they also have a variety of other flavors and combinations that are worth digging into! It certainly makes picking a single bag difficult. My personal favorite is the blend of cheddar and kettle corn! Each batch, hand-stirred in real kettles, marries the magic of sweet and salty, all while keeping it light on calories (just 143 per serving!). Say hello to wholesome snacking with all-natural, gluten-free ingredients and absolutely no trans fat. Perfect for spicing up your movie nights or adding that extra yum to lunchboxes, it’s the snack you’ve been dreaming of – without the guilt!

Caribbean Pie Company

Key lime pie on a stick

The first time I saw this booth for Caribbean Pie Company, I was intrigued. Key lime pie is amazing, especially when it’s done right. However, cover it in Belgian chocolate and put it on a stick? Sounds crazy! CRAZY GOOD. Treat yourself to this unique sweet treat. You’ll be glad you did. From their famous Key Lime Pie, a perfect balance of tart and sweet, to their array of deliciously flaky pastries, this place is a true gem for pie aficionados. It’s like they’ve bottled up the sun, sea, and sand into every mouthful. Whether you’re craving a comforting, hearty chicken pie or dreaming about a decadent, creamy dessert, this cozy spot has got you covered. If you miss them at the market, Local Spot 941 recently expanded their location to include Sweet Spot 941 and you can find a few of these treats incorporated on their menu as well.

The Brezel King

The Brezel King is a destination for pretzel aficionados, offering an irresistible array of freshly made pretzels in eight different flavors. Their menu is a celebration of diversity and creativity, featuring flavors like savory Bacon, spicy Jalapeno, rich Four Cheese, aromatic Herb Parmesan, the classic Everything, simple yet delightful Sesame, traditional Salt, and sweet Cinnamon Sugar. Each pretzel is crafted with care, ensuring a perfect blend of flavors and a satisfying texture. Whether you’re in the mood for something spicy, cheesy, sweet, or traditional, The Brezel King has a pretzel to suit every palate. They’ll even heat them up to enjoy them hot as you walk around the market!
